This is an awkward translation of the beautiful letter read by Romy Schneider in César et Rosalie.

"We had forgotten this house. Carla says she remembers the shutter's color. I am sure it is not the same. But you know how it is with the things we love, no matter how you redecorate them. The wind came up on monday and I am glad, and I am writting my fifth letter and I expect your fifth silence. I hear the whole family living and laughing downstairs and if I write to you that I am sad, it is dishonest and I know it.

I won't see you again and I know it too and yet, I'd like to know where you are. Where are you? You live and you don't answer.

Ce n’est pas ton indifférence qui me tourmente, c’est le nom que je lui donne: la rancune, l’oubli. David, César sera toujours César et toi, tu seras toujours David qui m’emmène sans m’emporter, qui me tient sans me prendre et qui m’aime sans me vouloir."

I love stained glasses since ever. I am fascinated by their fabrication's process. The atmosphere created is beautiful and always changing with the light. It even makes me enter in an old church in the middle of a holiday afternoon.

I'd love to live in an old art-deco house with stained glass windows.

This is a movie of a young french diretor: Mia Hansen Love. Her first movie. I can awkwardly translate the tittle by "everything is forgiven". The story of a young girl who meets her father after years of absence. Each scene is filmed as if it was the last one. There is so much light, elegance, sensitivy and intelligence... I haven't enough words.

Matt McGinn's lullaby" coorie doon" hurts my heart.

Hello, I will introtroduce myself rapidly:

I'm 23 years old and i'm actually finishing my studies, i'am writing a thesis right now about... let's talk about something else!

Though I am French and I love my language, I'll might try to write here in English. Why? I love this language, it's a way to improve my practice and a way to escape as well...

I played piano when I was younger and i felt in love with ragtime music. Don't ask me why this music trully speaks to me..

I have a fascination for the Jazz Age, it started when I was 16 with Dorothy Parker and Scott Fitzgerald and it never ended.
Now curiously, it's totally fashionable bud good luck for me because i can see all those wonderful clothes and little glimpses on blogs.

For me, environmentalism should be a part of each person's life. I like to talk with my friends about solutions to improve things, I like hearing about people around the world who care about it.

The title is misleading. This is certainly not a film about happiness. Colorful pictures, beautiful kids, healthy working-class lifestyle and insistent Mozart's music are hiding something wrong. Director Agnes Varda used to talk about a red worm in a appetizing apple. She let's a lot of mystery on it, a lot of interpretations can be made.

I like the beauty of frames and the optimistic atmosphere of the sixties, (a time of economic prosperty) reflected by the newness of facilities and technology. However countryside is extremely present, as an independant character.

Le titre peut porter à confusion. Il ne s'agit certainement pas d'un film sur le bonheur. Les plans colorés, les beaux enfants, le mode de vie sain et modeste des protagonistes, la musique entêtante de Mozart cachent quelque-chose.

La réalisatrice Agnès Varda a un jour parlé d'un ver dans une pomme appétissante, elle laisse cependant beaucoup de mystère autour de celui-ci, laissant plusieurs interprétations possibles.

J'aime la beauté des plans, l'ambiance optimiste des trente glorieuses, matérialisée dans les infrastructures et le progrès. La nature est cependant très présente, comme un personnage à part entière.

Un très beau film sur l'enfance. J'aurai l'occasion de parler de François Truffaut à nouveau, puisque c'est un réalisateur que j'ai découvert avec intérêt ces dernières années.

A matter of life and death

This is one of my favorite movies ever. Just after WW2, a former soldier imagine this tale about a love story between an english pilot and an american volunteer. The film is half black and white, and half technicolor. I like the scenes of the trial in this particular postwar heaven, uniting blacks and whites, nurses, pilots, african and indian soldiers and 18th century american pilgrims.

I like June's character, played by Kim Hunter.

Un de mes films préférés. A la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale, un ancien soldat imagine cette histoire d'amour entre un pilote britannique et une jeune volontaire américaine, sur fond de conte humaniste. Le film est à moitié en noir et blanc et à moitié en technicolor. J'aime les scènes du procès dans ce paradis un peu particulier de guerre mondiale, rassemblant noirs et blancs, infirmières, pilotes, soldats africains et indiens et pères fondateurs américains.
